Windward Islands Airways International (Winair), has been named the official airline for the Statia Sustainable Conference and Exhibition. The conference will be held at the Mike Van Putten Youth Center from September 25-27, 2012, during which delegates will discuss critical issues relating to the island’s sustainability.

American Airlines announces it will offer nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport (RTB) in Roatan, Honduras beginning Nov. 17. The new service will operate every Saturday using a Boeing 737 aircraft with 16 seats in Business Class and 144 seats in the Main Cabin.

Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) is willing to meet with officials of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) amidst mounting complaints about the service the airline provides between Trinidad and Tobago. While not wanting to specifically pinpoint what is the root of the problem, Moonan said insufficient money is not causing the inefficiencies being experienced on the airbridge.
