South American carrier LAN Airlines will launch a comprehensive update of its sales and check-in system on Sept. 7 and 8, incorporating points of sale including airports, travel agencies, sales offices and the LAN.com website. During the update, services and sales channels normally used by passengers will be temporarily unavailable, including reservations, sales, ticket exchange and check-in through LAN.com and through contact centers and sales offices.

Between 2 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 3 p.m. on Sept. 8, pre-check-in, reservations and ticketing at LAN.com, plus ticketing, redemption of LANPASS prizes and upgrade requests at contact centers, travel agencies and LAN sales offices will be unavailable. LAN is requesting that travelers flying during this period be at the airport at the check-in time on their boarding passes and pre-check-in through the website no earlier than 48 hours and no later than two hours before the flight, if possible. Passengers unable to complete pre-check-in before traveling to the airport should print a copy of their e-ticket and present it at check-in.

LAN is also asking passengers traveling on Sept. 9 to check in online beginning at 12 p.m. on Sept. 8. LAN passengers with upgrade coupons who are traveling from Sept. 7 to 9 should present them at the airport. Finally, passengers traveling to or from the United States should arrive at the airport four hours prior to departure.
