Students who attend the New Beginning School of Continuous Education were smiling from ear to ear after seeing their Five Cays, Providenciales learning facility transform from a rundown, ill-equipped compound to a majestic facility equipped with spanking new learning apparatuses and amenities.

Puerto Rico is participating in the Monaco Yacht Show this week, taking its Caribbean flair to the French Riviera to demonstrate why it is an ideal destination for yachters worldwide. The island's four marinas, yachting maintenance facilities, luxury attractions and natural beauty are among the highlights.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board has reported that the destination is 100 percent operational after recovering from hurricanes Nobert, Odile and Polo which came close to the destination during the past weeks.

Santiago-born writer and journalist Marta Rojas talked to university students, CITMA workers, researchers from Casa del Caribe and reporters, on her literary and journalistic experiences. During this meeting, the winner of the José Martí National Journalism Award in 1997 gave some pieces of advice she believes are important when it comes to making literature without putting the journalistic nose aside.
