Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino on the Caribbean island of Curacao has opened the doors to its brand new European style, split-level boutique casino.
Located in the heart of downtown Willemstad, the casino is centrally located for cruise ship visitors, tourists and local residents alike.
AMResorts, a hotel management company with brands totaling about 5,000 rooms over seven properties in Mexico and three in the Dominican Republic, celebrated its fifth anniversary by revealing that it will expand its portfolio into Jamaica.
The firm also will launch a rewards program for agents, which account for more than 75 percent of all bookings in October, sources close to the company´s front office revealed.
The Club Med Cancun Yucatan will reopen its doors November 11, following a 13-month, $20 million renovation program that resulted from last year´s Hurricane Wilma.
Changes at the resort, which will no longer be an adults-only property, include a strong emphasis on the discovery of the Yucatan region, new family and children´s programs, upscale amenities throughout, and the introduction of Jade Villa, a concierge villa for luxury travelers.
Marriott International will expand its brand presence in the Caribbean region in Barbados, Curacao, and Puerto Rico, and in Latin America in Costa Rica, according to Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging.
The hotel firm also will launch a Passport Initiative early next month, inviting its competitors to join Marriott in an all-out effort to publicize the new passport regulations set to take effect January 1, 2007, requiring passports for all U.S. travelers re-entering to the U.S. by air and sea from Mexico, the Caribbean, Bermuda, Central and South America and Canada.
Globalia will open three establishments in Havana, Varadero and the Keys of Jardines del Rey, with the purpose of consolidating its position in the vacation market of the Caribbean.
In August the group will sign the opening of its first three establishments, in an agreement that includes the incorporation of the regime of management of these superior category hotels, carrying out the traditional “joint venture” model, becoming partner of companies of the local government.
Wayport, Inc will install Wi-Fi wireless Internet access at the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino, which offers one of the Caribbean´s largest casinos.
Wayport will provide Wi-Fi wireless Internet access in all 850 rooms at the resort and in all common areas such as the lobbies and lounges.
