British Airways will launch its second weekly flight to St Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport at the end of this month. This was confirmed Monday by the St Kitts Tourism Authority’s Director of Communication’s Saju NG’alla who said the flight would begin on March 30.
US Airways is adding service to Canada and Mexico this summer from its hubs in Philadelphia and Charlotte. On May 31, US Airways will begin daily, year-round service between Charlotte and Ottawa. Air Wisconsin will operate the service under the US Airways Express brand with 50-seat Canadair regional jets.
Frontier Airlines said it will extend its seasonal nonstop service between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Cancun International Airport (CUN) through Aug. 28, 2010, the first time the airline has offered summer nonstop service on the route.
Spirit Airlines said it recently filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation to introduce service between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla, Colombia.
Lufthansa said the number of flights and destinations in its summer timetable for 2010 will remain virtually unchanged -- though fleet renewal marginally increases seat capacities. In the coming summer flight schedules, Lufthansa is serving an almost unchanged number of destinations with virtually the same number of flights as in the previous year. Seating capacity will be slightly higher.
AirTran Airways has begun nonstop service from Des Moines International Airport to Orlando International Airport. Since announcing weekend service in November, response has been so strong that the airline will add a third flight to Orlando on May 4.
