British Airways has announced it is adding to its Spanish routes portfolio from London City Airport. The airline is re-launching its year-round flights to Barcelona, with this previously summer-only service resuming at the end of March 2010 and continuing through the summer and winter.
Air Jamaica said a preliminary targeted transaction date of April 12, 2010 has been set when its operations will begin the transition to Caribbean Airlines. Air Jamaica said this transaction date is in line with the airline’s major schedule change that was previously announced.
Dutch Antilles Express (DAE) is expanding its services with new routes to Cartagena and Panama. The routes all connect in Aruba allowing DAE to fly to Bogota with a connection of only 30 minutes.
The government here said it is “very concerned” over the high airfares Guyanese have to pay to travel on regional carrier Caribbean Airlines and the poor services they receive.
Barbados has secured an agreement with GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (GOL Intelligent Airlines) that will guarantee direct airlift from Brazil starting June 26, 2010.
Starting March 29, Iberia will resume its service between Washington D.C. and Madrid. The carrier will operate three non-stop flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an additional weekly flight on Sundays effective June through August.
