The newest project from Grupo HABITA and architect Fernando Romero opened its doors on 15 March. The 36-room striking building was formerly the famous Hotel Boca Chica, located in Acapulco, the 1950’s playground of the Hollywood elite. Carlos Couturier and brothers Rafael, Moises and Jaime Micha, founders of Grupo HABITA, have lovingly restored the 1950s interior, creating a hotel with vintage charm and a chic contemporary design.

The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $380,000 civil penalty against Frontier Airlines of Denver for operating several aircraft on approximately 900 flights when they were not in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.

A Travel Leaders survey of 800 consumers around the U.S. found that nearly three-quarters of those polled indicated they were either “somewhat” or “very” satisfied with today’s airport security measures and nearly 82 percent expressed no concern with the use of full-body scanners at airport security check-points.

Cancun’s Underwater Museum, a project that was put into place to help conserve natural reefs, is experiencing beautiful, rapid coral growth, just in time for spring. The first 100 sculptures of the “Silent Evolution” are nearing completion and the museum’s underwater garden is quickly blooming with colorful corals.
