During October, Travel Impressions is offering incentives in celebration of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts Month, including savings of up to $300 per person on three-night, all-inclusive stays booked at participating properties in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica by Oct. 31 for travel Jan. 3 to Dec. 23, 2011. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts packages offer an all-inclusive vacation featuring hotel accommodations for three nights; roundtrip airport/hotel transfers; all meals, drinks and snacks; non-motorized watersports; daily activities; nightly entertainment; and hotel tax and service charges.

GOGO Worldwide Vacations launched a Costa Rica and Belize promotion that includes savings of up to 45 percent plus free nights, room upgrades and resort discounts. To qualify, booking must be made by Oct. 31 for travel Jan. 3 to April 30, 2011. Four-night Costa Rica packages are priced from $845, including four nights’ accommodation at RIU Guanacaste all-inclusive plus hotel transfers and 35 percent off golf. A four-night Belize package is offered at Las Terrazas priced from $799 with hotel transfers and a bonus guaranteed room upgrade.

Carnival Cruise Lines named Ben Clement vice president-newbuilds and Paul Weber vice president-supply chain. As vice president-newbuilds, Clement oversees the construction of Carnival’s two new 130,000-ton ships -- the Carnival Magic, set to debut May 1, and Carnival Breeze, scheduled to enter service in spring 2012. He also works closely with the company’s interior designers and product development team, as well as Carnival Corp.’s shipbuilding division and the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy where both ships are being built.

The Doral Golf Resort and Spa, a Marriott Resort, in Miami, is offering a package aimed at cruise passengers. The package includes deluxe accommodations, daily buffet breakfast for two adults in Terraza Restaurant and transportation to and from the Miami seaport.

Since 2007 Marriott International has reduced its energy consumption by 11 percent, reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 10.7 percent, and is on track to meet its aggressive goal of a 25 percent decrease in energy and water consumption per available room by 2017. These results are among those reported to shareholders, customers, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), associates and other stakeholders in the company’s first official Sustainability Report using the guidelines set forth by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), making Marriott the first major U.S.-based hospitality management company to report in accordance with this initiative.

The Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo resort named Daniel Hernandez general manager, with responsibility for day-to-day operations at the resort, which is completing a two-year, $40 million transformation. Mr. Hernandez was most recently general manager at AMResorts.
