Forbes Magazine’s choice of Belize as a top retirement spot confirms the tiny Caribbean country’s reputation as not only a desirable place to visit, but as a great place to live, Chaa Creek’s business manager Peter Tonti said. The current (November 2012) online edition of Forbes Magazine features Belize as one of “15 Top Foreign Retirement Havens.”

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LA Tourism), the travel industry sales and marketing organization for Los Angeles globally, has exceeded one million Facebook fans, becoming the first U.S. convention and visitors bureau (CVB) to hit this milestone.

A recent survey by CheapHotels.org has compared 30 destinations in the United States and Canada based on the overall quality of their hotels. In coming up with its results, the survey compiled evaluations the various hotels have received over the past 12 months.

The Mexico Ministry of Tourism reports that during the second quarter of 2012, the quarterly indicator of tourism GDP increased 3.2 percent in real terms, compared to the same period of last year. Domestic tourism consumption grew 2.1 percent, while inbound tourism increased by 18.3 percent.
