Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe visited the island of Ile a Vache on Tuesday to launch the new “Destination Ile a Vache” tourism project. Lamothe, joined by Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin, said the project was one of the “largest and most ambitious” of President Michel Martelly’s five-year term.
The largest marina in the Caribbean is scheduled for a $450 million renovation, after new owners bought the facility out of bankruptcy. Putnam Bridge Funding LLC plans to improve the infrastructure and facilities at Puerto del Rey Marina.

A 50 year old German tourist has died in Venice after the gondola he was riding in crashed into a boat which had been ferrying passengers along the Grand Canal. The accident, which took place on Sunday close to Rialto bridge, also left the man’s three year old daughter in a serious condition, according to reports.
In the second quarter of 2013, airberlin improved its operating result despite a difficult market environment. airberlin was able to increase EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) to EUR -8.1 million, an improvement of two-thirds over the corresponding quarter of 2012 (EUR -29.4 million).
