The House of Winds, the home of Dolores Olmedo, friend of the esteemed muralist Diego Rivera, is opening as a cultural center in Acapulco. The mansion overlooks Le Quebrada, the cliff-diving area, will open in September. It houses six of Rivera’s murals.

Just a day after it fined three travel agency groups for code-share reporting violations, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on Aug. 30 fined United Airlines $350,000 for failing to make prompt refunds to consumers.

A $9.3 million refurbishment of Puerto Plata Airport in the Dominican Republic was unveiled recently by Danilo Medina, president of the D.R.

"There has been a major refurbishment and expansion to the airport at a time when we want to support the relaunch Puerto Plata as tourist destination," Medina said in a statement.

The apparent meltdown of regional airline LIAT continues to claim victims and turn them into irate passengers, despite assurances this week from LIAT CEO Ian Brunton that the situation is improving and that there would be less disruption, less flight delays and cancellations.
