Puerto Plata Airport Upgrades Debut
A $9.3 million refurbishment of Puerto Plata Airport in the Dominican Republic was unveiled recently by Danilo Medina, president of the D.R.
"There has been a major refurbishment and expansion to the airport at a time when we want to support the relaunch Puerto Plata as tourist destination," Medina said in a statement.
The upgrades included new lighting and air-conditioning systems in the main terminal, improvements in customs and waiting areas, the installation of 17 new counters at check-in positions and the addition of two new floors for flight departure areas.
