The number of self-employed workers in Santiago de Cuba totaled 34,802 by the end of the first seven months of 2014, nearly five thousand over the same period in 2013. The information, published on Sierra Maestra newspaper’s website, points out that the most represented activities in this sector are transportation, food making and selling, hired workers and telecommunication agents (recently approved).
