The partnership enables Amadeus to integrate 10Best´s content into the Amadeus Selling Platform (Vista) desktop, offering agents in the U.S. and Canada the ability to provide their customers with objective recommendations for local travel and leisure options and booking-friendly events tailored by destination.

William E. “Skip” Barnette, president and CEO of Caribbean Star Airlines and Caribbean Sun Airlines, has issued a statement welcoming the recent upgrade of the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority to Category One status by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. In February 2006, Caribbean Star and Caribbean Sun announced that they had initiated a comprehensive review of their shared strategic business plan in an effort to fast-track long-term growth and development.

With rioting turning violent and talk of strikes in the air, travelers “should be at least concerned,” says airline watcher Terry Trippler of Cheapseats.com. If strikes occur, “the disruption of the transportation system in France could be minor, or it could be a real mess.” Unions and students protesting a new labor law have called for a limited strike on Tuesday, but tourist sites and transportation hubs such as airports are expected to remain open. Still, to be safe, Europe-bound vacationers should route upcoming flights through capitals outside of France, Trippler says.

Visiting Television of Thailand Channel 11 in Phuket for the supply of footage on the tsunami, recovery efforts, early warning system and drills, as well as the region´s present stage of natural beauty and normalcy, Lorna explained that the film production is part of the Phuket declaration following the WTO´s meeting in Phuket after the tsunami last year to assist in tourism promotion for its member countries.

CheapCaribbean.com announced last week it has finished working on an all-out makeover of its official website. The company says the new site features CheapFinder, a patented airfare search tool not found on any other travel site. The initiative has been taken in order to cater to need for customized travel packages, user-friendly technology, easy site navigation and online booking procedures.
