Interval International, a vacation exchange company, and resorts affiliated with its exchange network, announced their continued financial support of Caribbean tourism education with a $20,000 donation to the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Education Foundation. The check was presented by David Callaghan, vice president resort sales and service, Interval International, to Pamela C. Richards, CTO Chairman and Commissioner of Tourism for the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Jacqueline Johnson, CTC, chairman of the CTO Foundation, as part of Caribbean Week in New York City.

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) are investigating alleged cartel activity involving British Airways and other airlines. This is in relation to pricing of passenger air transportation, including fuel surcharges.
Panama will be selling this week the ambitious plan to expand the 92-year-old Panama waterway linking the Caribbean with the Pacific, in Britain and France. Panama´s Foreign Affairs minister Samuel Lewis Navarro is scheduled to visit London, where he will meet with UK´s Transport Minister, the city´s Mayor and the Secretary General of the World Maritime Organization, and Paris to give a conference to the French Geographic Society.
The Kuoni Group has signed a partnership agreement with Online Travel Corporation (OTC) to use the company´s web-based technology. The accord gives Kuoni access to some of the most successful online distribution systems available: OTC is a subsidiary of the lastminute.com Group, one of the established leaders in the internet sales field.
A recent poll conducted by American Express Travel among would-be brides and grooms revealed that the sun-basked Caribbean destination of St. Lucia tops the list of magic getaways for future honeymooners. British weddings in the Caribbean still rank the highest for people wanting to get married overseas. This is followed by Barbados, Antigua (fourth) and Jamaica (seven) according to a survey from American Express Travel shows.
