Apple Vacations, the top tour operator in the U.S., has given Bahia Principe Clubs and Resorts the Crystal Award, considered to be the most important prize in the tourism industry in the North American market.

The Discover Dominica Authority announced that Mr. Steve Bornn has been selected by its Board of Directors to serve as the organization’s first Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism, effective immediately.

The Nikki Beach Resort and Spa Turks and Caicos will consist of a five-star hotel, spa, nightclub, signature Nikki Beach Club, and eco-friendly marina -The Nikki Beach Club, Marina Club Villas and the Marina- will open in March 2008 and the 100-room Nikki Beach Resort and Spa will open in 2009.

Apple Vacations introduced eDocs, a new tool that enables travel agents and passengers to print their own documents from their email inbox. With the launch of eDocs, clients staying at most resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean will no longer have to present paper vouchers to airlines or hotels.

A travel agent has lashed out at a report by the Grenadian government claiming that Air Jamaica will be increasing flights to Grenada saying it is a bit deceiving.
