George Town._ The Cayman Islands Tourism Association has announced the dates for the first annual Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange (CITE 2002) to be held May 2 – 5, 2002 in George Town, Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange replaces the Cayman Islands Marketplace and is the first trade event featuring scheduled business meetings organized by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, which was formed in March 2001.
Caracas._ Margarita Island, Venezuela’s ultimate tourist destination, will host the 45th Congress of the Confederation of Latin American Tourism Organizations (COTAL) from May 13 through 17 this year. Under the slogan “United As Never Before,” COTAL convenes, as it’s always been its goal, to help foster collaboration among its members and among the different sectors linked to the tourist activity in Latin America.
Hamilton._ The Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF) has been called "the best little film festival in the world" by filmmakers and its fifth showcase of independent films from around the world is set for April 12-18. BIFF has partnered with four of the Island’s finest hotels, the Elbow Beach Hotel, Fairmont Hamilton Princess, Stonington Beach Hotel and White Sands & Cottages to provide special Festival packages.
Havana._ Top-notch cigar aficionados will have the chance to enjoy a genuine bash as the 4th Cigar Festival unfurls next February 25 through March 1 in Cuba, featuring a wide program of activities. Habanos S.A., a company that markets such top-brand Cuban cigars as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo and Juliet and Partagas, is the organizer of the event that this year will be dedicated to the Vegas Robaina trademark.
St Croix._ United States Virgin Islands’ Carnival is holding this year its 50th anniversary and to commemorate this important cultural tradition, St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John are getting ready to celebrate the event in grand style, including special hotel rates for foreign visitors.
