Chilean carrier Sky Airline announced that it will launch new service between Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The airline has received government approval of the new route in September and the service will commence on December 1. The carrier will use Airbus A320 aircraft to service new route.
Delta Air Lines has introduced twice weekly nonstop service from Detroit, USA to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and from December 15, 2010 it will increase it to five days a week to coincide with the start of the Brazilian tourist season. The flights will be operated with 216-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 35 BusinessElite seats and 181 seats in Economy Class.
The United States will be the main focus of Iberia's long-haul growth strategy in 2011, as it launches two new routes, one between Los Angeles and Madrid, and another between Miami and Barcelona.
Starting on March 28th, the Spanish company will operate three non-stop flights weekly from Los Angeles -on Monday, Wednesdays, and Saturdays- with an additional Thursday flight in July-September.

Aerolineas Argentinas will sign an agreement by the end of October to officially start the process of joining SkyTeam as the first South American member of the airline alliance. Customers will benefit from increased access to and from Latin America. SkyTeam is actively working to strengthen its presence in Latin America, a region with strong growth figures and a positive outlook for the future.
Jazz Air shares rose 8.1 percent on Friday after Air Canada’s regional carrier said it planned to maintain its dividend payout after converting to a corporation. Like many Canadian-based income funds, Jazz is converting to a corporate structure because changes to Canadian tax laws will eliminate tax advantages for funds starting in 2011.
