The Caribbean recorded a rise in visitor arrivals during the first half of this year, keeping pace with the world average, according to figures released by the Barbados-based Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). The region has so far enjoyed a 4.3 percent increase.
Cuba continues to develop Nature Tourism, a modality that chips in important revenues to the island’s economy, despite boasting a still low number of enthusiasts. The tour modality is being promoted and managed by Ecotur travel agency which focuses in markets such as France, the U.K., Canada and Brazil, among other countries.
PKF Consulting USA (PKFC) announced that the average Caribbean hotel enjoyed an 18.6 percent increase in net operating income (NOI) during 2013, according to its newly released 2014 edition of Caribbean Trends in the Hotel Industry.
