This past November, Barbados opened the Crickets Legends of Barbados Museum. Located on Fontabelle at Herbert House, site of the current Cricket Legends of Barbados store, the museum features historic West Indian cricket memorabilia. With interactive information kiosks aimed primarily at the youth, the museum highlights the talents of the West Indian cricket greats.

Mesa Air Group on Tuesday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Mesa will restructure its business mostly because of financial obligations for leases on airplanes it no longer needs.

According to Scotland’s Evening Times, Glasgow Airport will spend £25 million ($41 million) on upgrades and improving access.

Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett was named Man of the Year by Ken Chaplain, a columnist with the Jamaica Observer, one of the island’s leading newspapers. In his weekly column published on Dec. 29, Chaplain noted that the Tourism Minister was his choice because of his tenacity and leadership of Jamaica’s tourist industry in a challenging year for the global industry.

The Cayman Islands on Jan. 1 banned smoking inside all public places, including bars, restaurants, stores and bus terminals. Smokers are allowed to light up only in open outdoor spaces that are at least 10 feet from nonsmoking areas.
