The Yachts of Seabourn has named fashion icon Twiggy as the Godmother of its newest yacht, Seabourn Sojourn. A naming ceremony will be held on the River Thames on Friday, June 4, followed by a fundraising gala event on June 5. Proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Haven.
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has unveiled plans for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, one of the largest new hospitality projects in Florida that will feature family suites designed around four unique themes: The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Cars and The Little Mermaid.
U.S. airlines carried 48.9 million scheduled domestic and international passengers in February, 1.9 percent fewer than they did in February 2009, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported in a release of preliminary data. The February 2010 passenger total was 14.4 percent below that of two years ago in February 2008.
Royal Caribbean International revealed some of the amenities that will be available aboard the new Allure of the Seas, which starts it inaugural season in December, as well as upcoming enhancements to the Liberty of the Seas and the Freedom of the Seas. The announcements were made by Vicki Freed, Royal Caribbean’s senior vice president of sales, trade support and services, and Lisa Bauer, senior vice president of hotel operations.
