Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. today announced that Michael Bayley has been promoted to President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, replacing Dan Hanrahan, whose departure was recently announced.
Nearly 300 juvenile turtles died in mid-July after a water line break affected the water supply to some of the turtle tanks at the Cayman Turtle Farm in West Bay. “We lost some 299 turtles, which were all between the ages of three- and five-years-old,” read a statement released by the Turtle Farm on Tuesday.
Jan Joseph, who is pursuing an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management, is the recipient of an educational grant from CIBC First Caribbean International Bank. Joseph was awarded $3,000 by the financial institution.
Hassel Thom has been appointed president of the Trinidad Hotels, Restaurants & Tourism Association (THRTA). He will work with the new board of directors to pursue initiatives that will drive Trinidad tourism. Thom has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, and is the current general manager of Trinidad's Cara Suites Hotel and Conference Center. He has been a member of THRTA since 2012.
6 months after the bankruptcy of Spanair and Malev, customers have still not been refunded for the unflown tickets, highlighting the lack of proper protection against airline failures, says ECTAA - Group of National Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations within the EU.
Two major European airlines have ceased operating beginning of this year leaving many passengers with worthless tickets.
