Emirates, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, has appointed Orhan Abbas as the new senior vice president to lead its commercial operations for the Americas. Abbas took up the role last month. Prior to his new position, Abbas was Emirates' vice president for India and Nepal.
Canada's airlines can expect a second consecutive year of losses in 2012, according to The Conference Board of Canada's Canadian Industrial Outlook: Canada's Air Transportation Industry - Summer 2012. With fuel prices increasing more than 30 percent in 2011, the industry lost $900 million last year.
