The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has engaged its local and regional partners in forging strategies aimed at continuing the sustainable growth of their respective economies, during the Small Island Developing States Conference.

Construction of the site office for the Park Hyatt St. Kitts is underway. The first concrete was poured recently and construction of the multi-million resort is to start shortly. Opportunities for employment include construction supervisors, foremen, tradesmen and external works supervisors.

Melia Caribe Tropical recently announced the appointment of Florian Connert as the new director of sales and marketing for Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic. Connert will oversee all of the marketing and sales efforts for the resort.

East End is in the spotlight as the new and prestigious Ironwood development launches the first Arnold Palmer 18-hole championship golf course in the Caribbean. Arnold Palmer is an American professional golfer, who is generally regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of men's professional golf.

The number of weddings hosted in the Bahamas surged to over 100,000 last year and a new initiative aimed at the US market hopes to attract many more. The campaign will feature prominent billboard advertising in Times Square and social media marketing.
