Due to the impact of hurricane Sandy back in 2012, the museum’s roof was torn apart and the exhibited artifacts suffered some damage. The Tomas Romay Museum of Natural History, located on the corner of Enramadas and Barnada streets, has once again opened its doors to both national and international visitors.

Among those arrested was also 20 year old Kelly Johana Suarez, who last year was a contestant for Miss Cartagena. Suarez is accused of recruiting youth in the slums of Cartagena to go to parties with foreigners. Authorities suspect that Suarez used a modeling agency as a front to recruit youth for sex tourism.
The privately-owned Banana Coast Trujillo port, situated in the north east of the country, is Honduras' first mainland cruise port. It complements the more established port on the island of Roatan, which serves Royal Caribbean and Carnival.
