St. Maarten has appointed Mr. Claret M. Connor as the country's Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications. Minister Connor brings with him, to this position, many years of experience in various sectors of the hospitality industry.

The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) has announced the addition of four member lines. Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, brands of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Croiseres de France and Pullmantur, brands of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., recently joined FCCA, bringing the total number of member lines to 19.

The Netherlands is concerned that, without a visa requirement, criminals would travel to Curacao. However, Curacao is looking at the economic benefits in tourism if no visa is needed.
