With all Southern California wildfires nearing 100 percent containment, the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC) is working to aid those displaced by this disaster, while encouraging tourists to continue to visit the state´s destinations and attractions.

Southwest Airlines, the most popular low-cost carrier in the U.S., announced its decision to stop paying commissions to travel agencies beginning on December 15, a move that would allow the company to sock away as many as $40 million every year, sources close to the front office informed.

The first large-scale all-inclusive hotel, the Paradisus Puerto Rico being built in Rio Grande, will definitely swing its gates wide open on Dec. 19 this year.

Paradisus’ front office will launch a couple of job marketplaces this week –one in Carolina and another in Fajardo- for the initial hiring of 250 to 300 employees that will make up the payroll of this lodging facility that promises to put Puerto Rico on the Caribbean map as far as this concept is concerned.
