Funjet Vacations is offering live, interactive Webcasts from Cozumel this week, including April 5 at 1 p.m. and April 6 and 7 at noon (Eastern time for all three days). The "virtual fam tours" are designed to educate agents and the industry about the status of Cozumel´s tourism infrastructure since Hurricane Wilma.

Richard Mortimore, who has been working for over 20 years with some of the world´s major airlines, has been appointed Managing Director of Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE). For the past seven years, Mr. Mortimore has been International Director of Sales, Marketing and Reservations for US Airways. Previously he held managerial posts with United Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Air Europe.
Travelocity and AOL have renewed and expanded their marketing partnership for two years. Under the terms of the agreement, travelocity.com will continue to serve as the exclusive provider of flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises and vacation packages for AOL Travel. The companies have also agreed to more broadly share technologies and resources moving forward with Travelocity integrating its editorial content and video, traveler reviews, RSS alerts and other personalization features into AOL Travel.
Delta´s pilots have voted overwhelmingly to give their union´s leadership the authority to call a strike if the airline is able to toss out the existing contract and impose its own terms, which would include the second big pay cut in less than two years. More than 90% of the union´s members voted in favor. An arbitration panel must decide by April 15 whether Delta can reject the existing contract.
This year´s hurricane season will likely be worse than usual, though not as severe as 2005, a U.S. hurricane expert said last week. A record 27 tropical storms formed last year, with seven becoming major hurricanes, including Katrina and three others that hit the United States.
