Thomson, one of Britain’s largest tour operators, announced last week it is no longer billing customers for fuel supplement charges.

Cunard Line created an online course for travel agents to learn more about its upcoming ship, the Queen Victoria, through its Cunard Academy online sales training Web site, Cunard said. The course, at www.onesourcecruises.com, featured a detailed overview of the new ship which was set to debut in December, and then a short quiz.

The Villa Group has announced the appointment of Roland Bernard to the position of General Manager for its Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta. Bernard will be responsible for daily operations of the beachfront resort overlooking Banderas Bay.

Starwood Vacation Ownership, a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, revealed plans for its third property in Latin America, The Westin Los Cabos Ocean Villas. The property will be the first vacation ownership resort in Los Cabos, Mexico developed by a major U.S. lodging company.

An aviary has opened at Coral World Ocean Park in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The new attraction is called Lorikeet Garden. It’s a 1,600-square-foot walkthrough aviary with 20 birds, including 17 brilliantly colored lorikeet parrots. Guests may buy a cup of nectar to feed the birds, which are known for being people-friendly.

Thomas Cook said it has sold hotels in Morocco and the Spanish island of Majorca as part of its ongoing divestment program. The company declined to give financial details, according to Dow Jones news wire.
