New York Mets fans may catch more than a winning game or a ball hit into the stands during the 2007 Major League Baseball season. For the second year in a row, the Barbados Tourism Authority has partnered with the Mets to promote the Caribbean destination at home and away games. Via the partnership, Mets fans will have several chances to win an all-expense paid trip to Barbados.
London-based specialist tour operator British Tours Ltd. Has expanded its range of private tours of Paris and France via the Eurostar. The custom tours include high speed train travel between London and Paris -just two hours and 35 minutes each way- and private car or coach in France with qualified tour guides.
A park visitor was attacked by a grizzly bear Wednesday and hiked miles to safety with severe facial injuries, park officials said. The man, in his late 50s, was taking photographs of bears when he was attacked, according to a statement from the park. He told rangers he had been attacked by a sow with a cub.
Ground was broken recently at Grand Lido Braco in Trelawny for the construction of a training facility to benefit members of the Jamaican hospitality industry. This facility is timely as there is currently a three-year waiting list to be enrolled in the program.
Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts appointed Tony Cortizas as vice president of marketing for its Americas division. In his new position, Cortizas will oversee all aspects of marketing -including advertising, public relations, promotions and e-commerce- for the Spanish-based company’s brands, which include Paradisus Resorts, Gran Melia and Melia.
