Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett has announced the appointment of John Lynch as chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB). A 30-year veteran of tourism, Lynch has been a steady force for many of the Caribbean’s most visible travel brands, including the country of Jamaica, where he has served over the last four years on the marketing subcommittee of the JTB’s board of directors.
Dutch tourist drowned while on a white-water rafting trip down the Padas River in Malaysia. Bianca De Visser De Vries, 42, was thrown off the raft with six others including her husband. Her body was found the same day, the Tenom Police Department said last week.
