Hyatt Regency Aruba Spotlights Achievements of Local Youth
The Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino launched an outreach project on October 19 called “Bo Tambe por! Bo Tambe por!,” which is Papiamento (the local Aruban language) for “You can do it, too.”
The kickoff featured 10 local celebrity youth who have been tapped as role models in a series of Hyatt-sponsored monthly activities that the hotel company said will give local kids a chance to explore and discover their own talents.
“As a leader in Aruba, Hyatt feels a firm responsibility to give back to the community in every way it can,” said Scott Allen, general manager. “We’re committed to fostering Aruba’s development, which we have demonstrated by investing more than $20 million in renovations to help promote Aruba as a destination.”
Outreach activities for the local kids included hiking trips to Arikok National Park; a tour of the hotel to introduce them to careers in tourism; cooking competitions; and art programs.
The kickoff event also highlighted the resort’s renovations to date in the lobby, the alfresco lobby bar, the 360 guest rooms and suites and the Palm restaurant and bar. The full redesign will debut early in 2008.
