St. Lucia’s Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort unveiled 12 new oceanfront Hibiscus suites. Each suite features sunset views, a private balcony or terrace, a master bedroom and bath and a second bedroom.
Silversea raised its fares on its 2009 departures, citing higher commodity costs. In a letter the luxury cruise line sent to travel agents, David Morris, Silversea’s executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, said that considering Silversea’s all-inclusiveness, it was an “exceptional challenge for us to keep our pricing unchanged when commodity prices continue to rise”.
Leipzig is to host ICCA’s World Congress 2011. Once per year the ICCA World Congress brings the whole meetings industry of all continents together. The event is organized by the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) which unites some 850 congress centers, destinations, meeting planners and meeting industry suppliers in more than 80 countries.
Mexico hotel company Real Resorts announced Friday the completion of the first portion of a major project to restore several damaged beachfronts. According to Real Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer Fernando Garcia, the goal of the project is to replenish at least 1,300 linear feet of waterfront property and to protect existing resort structures from erosion.
The Spanish news daily “Publico” revealed that the U.S. Government has just shut down several websites, operating from Spain and owned by a British citizen, that promote Cuba as a tourist destination for Europeans.
