The 27-suite Ku, Anguilla´s newest hotel, will swing its doors wide open on October 15 on Shoal Bay East beach on the Northeast Coast of the Caribbean destination of Anguilla.
Ku, which means "sacred place" in the Arawak Indian language, is near Fountain Cave, an Indian ceremonial site.
Troubled hotel operator Wyndham International agreed Tuesday to be sold for $3.24 billion to The Blackstone Group, a private equity firm that is on a cross-country, multibillion-dollar hotel-buying spree.

W Hotels Worldwide announced earlier this week plans for the first W Hotel in the Caribbean, W Vieques-Martineau Bay, located on the largely undiscovered Puerto Rican island of Vieques.
Scheduled to open in Fall of 2006, the W Vieques-Martineau Bay will have 156 guest rooms and villas, two restaurants including one poolside cafe, an 8,000-square-foot spa and a 3,000-square-foot bar.
