Westin to Bring its Brand to the Dominican Republic in 2006

Westin Hotels & Resorts will get its big break in the Dominican Republic when its 315-room Westin Roco Ki Beach & Golf Resort opens near Punta Cana on the East Coast come November 2006.

In a destination loaded with all-inclusive properties, the Westin is bucking the trend by opening as an EP resort. The resort´s name stems from the island´s ancient Taino Indian culture and means "honoring the land."

Facilities will include an 18-hole golf course, a spa, seven restaurants and bars, tennis courts, six pools, and 20 "jungle deluxe" bungalows, which will be built over manmade lakes.

All guest rooms will feature Westin´s signature Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Baths.
