Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has applauded the government of Barbados following the announcement of a deal which will result in opening of two resorts in the country.

Meliá Hotels International has announced further growth in Venezuela with the addition of its third hotel: the Meliá Puerto Ordaz, a new 150-room property scheduled to open in 2015. As part of its growth strategy Meliá prioritizes alliances with local partners in high-growth countries and regions.

The 40-room resort, a member of Elite Island Resorts' collection of Caribbean properties, now offers three beachfront room categories, the remodeled 1748 Restaurant & Bar, upgraded tennis courts, a gift shop and a personal check-in service.
