Havana’s International Conference Center will be home to the Third Conference on Nation and Migration scheduled from May 21 to 23. The event will gather Cubans from the island and living overseas, basically in the United States.
The conference’s opening will be on Friday 21 at 10:00 am with the attendance of Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque. Organizers are expecting the participation of fellow Cubans from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, the United States and other countries.
The first and only regional fair specialized in congress and incentive tourism –MITM Latin America- will hold its fifth edition in Cuba’s Varadero from October 28 to 30.
G.S.A.R. Marketing, the event’s organizing firm, picked Cuba as a result of a poll that showed the tremendous interest the island nation draws among incentive and congress buyers from Europe and North America.
The fair’s three previous editions took place in the Mexican cities of Guadalajara, Leon-Guanajuato and Merida, and the latest one was held in Guatemala City.
The recently concluded conclave of the Latin America Tourism Organization (COTAL) –held from May 7 to 11- was used by the Mexican travel destination of Cancun to spearhead the recovery of the South American market to its premises, a segment whose total inflow took a double-digit slide from 12 to 2 percent over the last couple of years, the event’s Organizing Committee pointed out.
Guayaquil, Ecuador’s second-largest city, will soon be home to the 2004 International Tourism Fair scheduled from August 5 through 8 at the MAAC-Central Bank in the north side of the local 2000 Seawall.
As many as eighty countries have so far confirmed their professional participation in the event that will gather numerous airlines from the turf and overseas. Those carriers will equally help move attendants to Guayaquil and from there on to the four regions to be visited by experts: the Amazonian, Costa, Galapagos and Sierra.
The possibilities of bigger trade ties between Brazil and Cuba, and chances of enhancing exchanges in the travel industry were touched upon by officials from both countries during the opening of a new bilateral entrepreneurial meeting in Rio de Janeiro.
The second edition of 2004 Expobuceo will take place in late June and early July in the Cuban province of Matanzas, with most of the activities unfolding in its main scuba diving sites of Varadero and the Zapata Marshlands.
With a view to scour Cuba’s surroundings and share underwater experiences, scores of professional divers, representatives of Cuban nautical companies, members of diving schools from around the world, travel agents and media organizations will huddle there.
