Creating a colorful spectacle for those on and off the sea, the 39th annual Carriacou Regatta will take place from July 25th -August 2nd, 2004. The festival, which began as a mere boat racing event in 1965, is a salute to the Caribbean sister island of Grenada´s indigenous art of boat building, handed down by Irish and Scottish ancestors.
The Regatta race events, which take place the entire week, focus mainly on the locally built ´workboats´ with some ten different classes of boats ranging from 14 to 35 feet in length.
As a way to promote tourism in Argentina, the city of Buenos Aires is holding this weekend the twelfth edition of the International Wintertime Tourism Exposition at the Exhibition Center of the nation’s capital.
The event is gathering over 150 specialized exhibitors and features countless attractions, prizes and special promotions.
Havana’s International Conference Center will be home to the Third Conference on Nation and Migration scheduled from May 21 to 23. The event will gather Cubans from the island and living overseas, basically in the United States.
The conference’s opening will be on Friday 21 at 10:00 am with the attendance of Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque. Organizers are expecting the participation of fellow Cubans from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, the United States and other countries.
