Windstar Cruises´ three upscale sailing ships –the 148-guest Wind Star and Wind Spirit, and 308-guest Wind Surf- offer cruise vacations 180 degrees from ordinary in the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Mediterranean, Greek Isles and on Transatlantic voyages in 2007 and 2008. A new 18-month deployment calendar allows groups and individual guests to plan vacations further out and reserve the ship and date of their choice.

Ultra luxury small ship specialist Seabourn Cruise Line has opened bookings for its three yacht-like, all-suite ships through the first quarter of 2008. The 15-month schedule includes 125 cruises aboard Seabourn Pride, Spirit and Legend, calling at more than 225 ports in 64 countries between January 2007 and April 2008. Cruise schedules and fares for the first quarter 2007 were published a year ago in an annual brochure along with the complete 2006 cruises, and have already been selling steadily.

Royal Caribbean International revealed a series of port and itinerary changes and the naming of its newest ship, the Liberty of the Seas, during the Cruise Lines International Association´s Cruise3sixty convention in Fort Lauderdale. The Liberty, Royal Caribbean´s second Freedom class ship, will debut in May 2007, one year after its sister ship, the Freedom of the Seas.

In its most dramatic deployment in Europe to date, Princess has unveiled the details of a 2007 Europe season offering the ultimate in diversity, with five ships ranging from 680 to 3,100 passengers, itineraries running from seven to 24 days and destinations as varied as Iceland and Egypt. Two vessels, Royal Princess and Emerald Princess, make their Princess debuts with European sailings, as do five new boutique itineraries, featuring four new European ports and Princess´ return to the Holy Land.

Royal Caribbean International celebrated the grand opening of its call center in Springfield, Oregon, this week with a three-day party. The $60 million, 160,000 square-foot environmentally-friendly building, designed to look like a cruise ship, currently employees 250 people, and will have 1,000 by 2009, said Monica Shovlin, Royal Caribbean´s spokesperson in Springfield.
