Dutch air carrier KLM is further progressing toward 100 percent e-ticketing, which is in line with the industry goal of moving to full e-ticketing capabilities by the end of 2007, as initiated by IATA, said Bart Vos, senior vice president of Distribution and E-Commerce for KLM. “Presently, 73 percent of all KLM tickets issued are e-tickets.” As per the information available, the Worldspan Interchange provides KLM with Interline Electronic Ticketing (IET) product to help the carrier achieve the industry goal of 100 percent e-ticketing in 2007. KLM joins more than 100 airlines available through the growing Worldspan Interchange hub.

JetBlue Airways will begin two daily nonstop flights between New York´s John F. Many U.S. airlines are postponing plans for new service to resort destinations in Mexico because of hurricane-related damage. Some carriers plan to sit out an entire year on certain routes. USA 3000, citing hurricane-related damage in Cancun and Cozumel and the “resulting scarcity of available hotel rooms,” told the Department of Transportation it is postponing the relaunch of seasonal service from Detroit and St. Louis to Cozumel until December 15, skipping this winter season.

Virgin Atlantic Airways announced that it will be introducing an additional daily JFK service, increasing its flights between Heathrow and New York from five to six a day. The new daily service will be the airline´s second daylight flight from New York and will operate from July 2006. In conjunction with the new JFK service, also beginning in July 2006, the VS009 will change from its current departure time to a new Heathrow departure time. These changes will allow Virgin Atlantic to bring the VS010 departure from JFK forward.
