The Honorable Richard Sealy, Minister of Tourism for the island nation of Barbados was in New York last week to help celebrate two very important announcements for the Barbados Tourism Authority; the launch of their new “Long Live Life” advertising campaign and Jet Blue’s new daily service from New York (starting today October 1st).
Air Jamaica handed out pink slips to 300 workers last week in a move to reduce staff by 15 percent, according to the Jamaica Observer.
The recent signing of an interline agreement with US Airways and Curacao-based Insel Air has given travelers more flexibility in planning their vacation to the island of Curacao. All US Airways routes will be connecting seamlessly, within one and a half hours, of Insel Air departures to Curacao from Miami International.
Air Jamaica will revise baggage regulations for passengers with tickets issued on or after Sept. 25 for travel beginning Oct. 14. As of this date, Economy Class passengers will be allowed two pieces of checked baggage and one carry-on piece, buta fee of $25 will apply for the second checked bag.
Virgin America has announced new fall seasonal menus that offer travelers a varied, upscale selection of fresh meal and snack options at any time during their flight. Virgin America’s touch-screen seatback menu (Red) allows guests to order what they want, when they want it, during a flight.
US Airways is offering the new Envoy Suite on trans-Atlantic flights. Starting this November, the airline will begin installing fully lie-flat business-class seats with an advanced on-demand in-flight entertainment system on its fleet of Airbus wide-body aircraft.
