US Airways and Spanair are expanding their bilateral codeshare agreement.
Continental is postponing the installation of onboard Internet because the airline wants to “determine in-flight Internet connectivity solutions in the context of a merged carrier.”
Delta plans to make first-class service available on all domestic flights longer than 750 miles, or about 2.5 hours of flight time, beginning this fall. When the upgrade is complete, 50 Delta Connection routes that currently have only one class of service will be upgraded to two-cabin aircraft.
Western Air, a privately-owned Bahamian airline based on Andros Island, expanded its service to Jamaica with the June 11 launch of daily flights between Nassau and Montego Bay. Service had been scheduled to start May 30, but was pushed back to the new June date.
American Eagle is launching service to several new destinations. It has begun daily nonstop jet service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Fayetteville Municipal Airport (FAY) in Fayetteville, N.C. Eagle will operate the service with 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets.
British Airways has substantially reduced roundtrip Club World (business class) advance purchase fares to London and select Europe destinations for summer 2010. Roundtrip fares to London begin from $2,798 from New York (JFK or Newark).
