US Airways, Spanair Expand Codeshare Agreement

US Airways and Spanair are expanding their bilateral codeshare agreement.
This will give passengers of both airlines greater access to destinations within Spain, the Canary Islands, continental Europe and Africa. By way of Spanair’s Madrid and Barcelona hubs, US Airways customers will have seamless access to the following destinations: Spain and the Canary Islands; Europe; Africa; Bilbao (BIO); Marseilles, France (MRS); Banjul, Gambia (BJL); Ibiza (IBZ); Stockholm, Sweden (ARN); Las Palmas (LPA); Tenerife-Norte Los Rodeos (TFN); Tenerife-Sur Reina Sofia (TFS); Valencia (VLC); Malaga (AGP); and Palma (PMI). Some of these routings are subject to foreign government approval.
Additionally, US Airways customers can access Barcelona in the off-season via Spanair from Madrid when US Airways service goes on winter hiatus. The airline has served Madrid and Barcelona (seasonally) from its hub and international gateway at Philadelphia International Airport since 1996 and 2005, respectively. US Airways and Spanair began initial cooperation in late 2003 involving four Spanish destinations.
