American Airlines and JetBlue Airways on Thursday plan to launch frequent-flyer reciprocity “in select markets,” after the two carriers expanded an interline agreement announced in March.

In anticipation of a strong rebound in travel demand from the United States this winter, tourism officials have announced that Caribbean Airlines will begin twice weekly non-stop service from JFK to Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesdays and Fridays.

American Eagle launched jet service from Miami to Exuma in the Bahamas on Nov. 18. The daily flight replaced the propeller planes that had serviced the route. Service is twice a day on weekends.

American Airlines is offering specials to St. Lucia from destinations across the U.S., including Boston, Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Prices start at $238 excluding taxes. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 18 for travel anytime. To book, visit www.aa.com.

S7 Airlines became part of oneworld, adding Russia’s leading domestic carrier to the global airline alliance. S7 subsidiary Globus also joined oneworld at the same time. S7 and Globus now offer oneworld’s full range of services and benefits, joining an alliance that includes American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas and Royal Jordanian and almost 20 affiliated airlines.

Air Canada said that it has adjusted its checked baggage policy for domestic Canadian, Caribbean and Mexican travel to align it with prevailing industry practices. Economy Class customers will still be able to check one bag for free in addition to permitted carry-on baggage.
