Nicaragua’s Tourism Minister Mario Salinas Pasos, in an exclusive interview for CND, announced the start of regular operations by Air Nicaragua beginning in July and featuring three weekly flights between that Central American nation’s capital and Havana.

U.S.-based airline American Eagle is already operating under a new schedule between the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport on San Juan [SJU] and the Vance W. Amory International Airport on Nevis [NEV].

Frontier Airlines is offering a sale across the United States with one-way sales starting at $44. Sale-priced tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. ET on May 18, for travel through May 25. Sample routes and fares include Albuquerque-Denver, $44; Des Moines-Milwaukee, $59; and Minneapolis-Kansas City, $109. A seven-day advance purchase applies.

JetBlue Airways is adding a third daily flight between Fort Lauderdale and Nassau. The increased service builds on the success of JetBlue’s existing nonstop Nassau service from Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, New York (JFK) and Boston.

American Airlines has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for the right to fly 10 additional U.S. – Brazil weekly frequencies that it will use to add service from its Miami hub. American proposes to increase its current service from Miami to Brasilia and Belo Horizonte, and to launch new service from Miami to Manaus.
