Interjet will debut twice-weekly service to Mexico City on Nov. 15 from Las Vegas. Introductory fares of $299 to Mexico City’s Toluca Airport are valid until the end of December, subject to availability. “Interjet is very pleased to commence service from Las Vegas, Nev., to Mexico City’s Toluca Airport,” said Jose Luis Garza, Interjet’s CEO.

TAM Airlines is to take delivery of four new Boeing 777s before the end of the year that are the first to feature a new interior design developed exclusively for the airline by the British company, Priestmangoode. Each plane has the capacity for up to 368 passengers.

Central and South America will lead the world in November in the growth of long-haul air traffic and capacity, according to the latest statistics from OAG, the market leader in flight schedule data. However, air traffic within the region will show an overall stagnation, with a decline in the stalling Brazilian domestic market offsetting growth in some neighboring countries.

LIAT will be approaching eight of the territories it services for financial assistance given that these routes are costing the Caribbean airline more than it makes from attending to them. This was indicated recently by LIAT chief executive officer, Captain Ian Brunton.

The service from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Orlando and Tampa Bay, Fla., will be added to AirTran Airways's current services between San Juan and Baltimore/Washington, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Atlanta.
