Haiti’s renewed focus on tourism seems to be paying off so far in 2014. After a 2013 that saw a 20.2 percent improvement in arrivals compared to the previous year, Haiti’s numbers continue to grow, according to new data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The Dominican Republic’s tourism boom continues. The region’s leading tourism destination received just under 2.7 million tourist stopover arrivals in the first half of 2014, an 8.4 percent improvement over the same period in 2013.
