For many Ecuadorian and Chilean tourists, the cities of Tumbes and Tacna (respectively) are the gateways to a number of diverse destinations in the interior of the country. Because of that, Magali Silva, Peru's Minister of Exterior Commerce and Tourism, has announced the implementation of a new campaign that seeks to promote tourism in the border regions near Chile and Ecuador in order to increase the flow of visitors from those areas.

New visitor figures show a rise in cruise ship business but air arrivals to the island are down through the first six months of the year, according to the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA). Officials said Bermuda’s tourism business was still marked by “fragility” and showed only slight gains.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) Greg Phillip listed a number of initiatives the Authority had taken which was showing success with attracting visitors to Nevis. NTA recently produce a new advertisement about the Nevis product which he stated had become necessary.
