Wizz Air, the largest low-fare, low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced that it would further expand its operations in Bulgaria by adding a third brand new Airbus A320 aircraft in Sofia in May 2010.

Jamaica’s Finance Minister Audley Shaw on Tuesday announced a series of new taxes including a new departure tax on passengers flying out of Jamaica. In an interview in the Jamaica Gleaner, Wayne Cummings, president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, criticized the “80 percent increase in the departure tax” that took effect on Oct. 1.
Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. announced that Republic Airways Holdings, Inc., has completed its acquisition of the company. Upon the closing of the transaction, Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc., Frontier Airlines, Inc. and Lynx Aviation, Inc. successfully emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and are now wholly owned subsidiaries of Republic.
