Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa has hired Jason Heath as director of sales and marketing for the resort hotel, a key position that directs the resort’s public relations efforts along with its group sales, vacation planning, meeting planning, catering and golf.
The Department of Transportation on Friday assessed civil penalties against AirTran and Delta for violating rules that require airline price advertisements to disclose the full price consumers must pay. AirTran was fined $20,000 and Delta $40,000.

IATA announced international scheduled air traffic results for April, saying that passenger demand slumped by 2.4 percent as a result of massive flight cancellations centered in Europe during the six days in April following the eruptions of an Icelandic volcano. The fall in traffic interrupted the industry’s recovery from the global financial crisis.
